Prison Ministry

Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.  Hebrews 13:3

The Lord blessed us when He introduced us years back to the Rock of Ages Prison Ministries. We are able to help them in local prisons as volunteers.  We have men and women who minister monthly to youth in the Department of Juvenile Justice , sharing Christ with young men and ladies, ages 12-17. Every August we have several volunteers help with the Juvenile VBS, a four day event ministering to hundreds of young people. Presently we have some ladies who minister in Bible Studies and Visitation in the Ladies Prison. We also have those who regularly help in prison revivals,  the Blitz, as well as Ladies Retreats two times a year. Each Christmas, a large group of us, all ages, go Christmas caroling to Just Care, a prison hospital in Columbia. BBC also helps to put together the bags of Christmas gifts for everyone there at the hospital.   These ministries are so important. The Lord wants us to reach out to everyone. The opportunities for service at Blythewood Baptist are many and varied because the work of the Lord is all around us!*

*Presently, due to Covid-19, prison ministries have been suspended, as no visitors are allowed.
