On February 5, 2023, Blythewood Baptist Church voted to call Pastor Derek Renshaw as our new pastor. Pastor Renshaw, his wife Mrs. Christina, and their four children joined our ministry a few weeks later. The Lord called Pastor Renshaw to Blythewood from Hunt Valley, Maryland, where he served over nine years as an assistant pastor. He and his family are thankful for the Lord’s leading in their lives and in the life of Blythewood Baptist Church to bring us together. God has great things in store for this friendly country church, and our pastor is thrilled to be a part of it.
Pastor Derek Renshaw grew up in Greenville and Spartanburg, SC, until the Lord called him away to Bible college. There, he graduated with a BA and MA from Fairhaven Baptist College. From Bible college, the Lord moved him outside of Baltimore, MD, where he served as an assistant pastor at Hunt Valley Baptist Church. After nearly a decade of ministry, God brought him back to his home state of South Carolina
where he took the senior pastor position at Blythewood Baptist Church. His vision for the church is that through the preaching of the Word of God, the saints will be perfected for the work of the ministry and the body of Christ will be edified. As we remain faithful to the Lord, Blythewood Baptist Church will remain a shining light in a dark world. Souls will be saved, baptized, and added to the church as we
invest to reach our community, our country, and around the world with the good news of the Gospel.
